MONICA VILLARS

Monica got her k-12 Art ed degree from U of W - River Falls, followed by certification in special education & my MFA from Mpls College of Art & Design. She retired as an art teacher at the Area Learning, from Willmar Schools.

 

Monica was trained as a diversity facilitator with educators & was awarded a 3 week Fulbright Educational trip to Japan with 200 educators from the United States.  In 2006 she was awarded an “Ethics in Education” ( $10,000 ) from WEM Outstanding Educator Awards Program, Southwest West Central Service Cooperative.

 

She also has written several grants that were awarded to DEMO inc, providing students opportunities in visual arts, theatre, music, & taiko drumming that resulted in building self esteem in participants.

 

In addition to being president & co-founder of DEMO inc, she continues to be a working artist in a variety of media.

PAULINE DONAHUE

Pauline Donahue has lived in Willmar most of her life. She graduated from Willmar Senior High School & Willmar Community College.  She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts Degree in art education from the College of Saint Benedict.  Before 2014 retirement she taught art at BOLD Schools, grades 7-12 for 34 years.

 

In addition to being vice president & co-founder of DEMO inc, she continues to be a working artist in a variety of media.
